AMBER WALLIS & LIZZIE HALL
SWANS & AMMO
SAT 27 JULY UNTIL SAT 19 AUGUST 2007
Swans and Ammo presents Amber Wallis and Lizzie Hall's first joint exhibition after years of inspiring each other through their individual practices.
Amber Wallis' work consists of abstract, loose drawings on paper and more heavily worked paintings tied together by a visual language based on personal narrative highly influenced by colour, the experience of creating line and the effect of random mark making.
Lizzie Hall's work comprises two parts, an ineffectual battalion of soft-shelled toy tanks and a series of large-scale paintings. The paintings act as a sombre backdrop, a landscape upon which the tanks have wreaked their havoc.
